Anyway, we had a wonderful week in 5th grade! The kids did some more research on their science projects, learned about important people of the civil war, wrapped up Unit 1 in math, finished and shared their narrative writings, and tackled main idea. See the class in action page to see a civil war battle field demonstration we did in class!
Some parents had some questions about progress reports. If your child did not receive one, that means they have an A,B,or C in all classes and there is no area for concern. If you would like to keep up with your child's grades, check ParentVue often. That is our way of communicating their grades. If you need help navigating through that, let me know and I can help. I am also willing to print off a progress report when needed anytime, just ask! :) We still have 3-4 weeks of grading left so plenty of time for improvement.
October 5-8 the students will be taking the IOWA test. Please make sure students are on time and at school everyday and also eat a healthy breakfast!
October 19-23 is Parent/Teacher conferences. Please be on the lookout for a link to sign up for a time slot. I will post the link in the next blog post. You will sign up for a time that works best for you on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. It will be first come first serve, so make sure you sign up when it becomes available. Stay tuned!
Please encourage the students to keep working on their science projects at home! We work on them at school some, but some needs to be worked on at home as well. Thanks so much!
HAVE A WONDERFUL AND SAFE FALL BREAK! SEE YOU BACK ON SEPTEMBER 28!
